Dr. Gillespie is a member of the Indiana and the American Veterinary Medical Associations and a former member of the Association of Avian Pathologists. He is trained as an Animal Surveillance and Emergency Response Team (ASERT) member. He has helped his local health department and Emergency Management Agency prepare for the possibility of a bird flu pandemic and possible food and animal related emergencies.
